In the year 2147 the cargo ship ‘Starling’ left lunar orbit for the dwarf planet Ceres. It carried 22 crew and 60 passengers, destined for various assignments in the asteroid belt. Shortly before reaching Ceres, the ship failed to make necessary course adjustments to enable it to enter orbit and all communication was lost. As a result, the ship missed its rendezvous placing it beyond recovery for the next 58 years. The ship was officially declared lost in 2152, making this the worst accident in the history of space travel up until that point. The cause of the disaster has never been resolved, but over the proceeding years speculation has become rife, leading to many outlandish theories. Now that the Starling is finally being recovered, it is hoped that the fate of the ship and its crew can finally be determined.
